Assalamualaikum…

Agak lama gak x menulis post baru. Saya rasa saya tangguh dulu lah post pasal PPOU… Nak citer sket pasal interview Petronas and MISC…

Minggu lepas Petronas telah menghilangkan debaran2 applicants yg applied for their scholarships dengan me 'release’ kan candidates yg berjaya pergi ke Educamp 2008…

Hmm... mcm biasa lah.. ader yg sedih kerana x berjaya dapat, melompat kegembiraan kerana x sangka dapat… ader gak yg x de perasaan, x rasa pape… ~ lumrah manusia…

A message from me:

Kepada yg berjaya pergi Educamp dan belum menghadiri Educamp tersebut:
Selamat maju jaya…Do your best! Berdoa dan bertawakkal kepada ALLAH…

Kepada yg berjaya pergi Educamp dan dah lepas menghadiri Educamp (termasuk my brother):
Anda semua telah melakukan yg terbaik.. Bykkan berdoa… Kongsi lah pengalaman dengan rakan2 yg laen…and saya doakan semoga korang dapat scholarship PETRONAS tuh!!!

Kepada yg tidak berjaya mendapat Educamp tuh:
Bykkan bersabar… InsyaALLAH ade hikmahnya… To be frank, saya pun dulu x berjaya dapat, but then selang beberape hari lepas tuh dapat call dari khazanah…Moral of the story is, life goes on as usual…and of course gunakan senjata yg kiter ade ~ ‘DOA’, doa byk2 agar kiter di tempatkan di pusat pengajian yg terbaik untuk diri kita… Segempak mane pun pusat pengajian or scholarship yg kiter dpt, x semestinya itu yg terbaik untuk diri kita… So, berdoalah kepada ALLAH…

Sebabkan korang semua masih ader masa sebelum masuk ke pre-Uni, so habiskan masa yg terluang dengan aktiviti2 yg berfaedah… GUD LUCK!!!

Untuk pengetahuan korang scholarship PETRONAS nih boleh dibahagikan kepada dua : PETRONAS itu sendiri and MISC (syarikat perkapalan bwh PETRONAS)

Ader beberape conditions boleh happen (berdasarkan my friends’ experience):

1. Sape yg apply tuk marine engineering kebiasaannyer akan di letak under scholarship MISC terus. (ader sorang kawan saya nama dier azree kat KDU kes mcm nih)

2. Some course mcm accountancy boleh gak di tukar dari scholarship PETRONAS ke MISC (kawan saya bernama omar rozali kat Monash Uni (twinning program) kes mcm nih)

Nway, scholarship dier lebih kurang sama jer, yg berbeza ialah dengan sape kiter akan bekerja nnti.

Owh, lupa nak bgtau MISC pun ader conduct interview dorang sendiri kat bangunan dorang dekat ngn stesyen LRT PUTRA, PASAR SENI…

So memandangkan saya ader attend interview MISC, saya akan kongsi sket psl interview dier and saya juga akan letak dialog saya dengan kawan saya, din paiman (sponsored by PETONAS and now studying in UTP) untuk membantu dorang yg pergi ke Educamp…

Interview MISC nih menarik gak… hmm… jap nak recall jap..
Ha! Dah ingat sikit…
Interview dier berjalan dari pagi sampai petang… but in between ader break lah…
(and you know what???, kitorang punyer break agak panjang sampai my new friends and I sempat gi SOGO, makan2 and maen kat Game Arcade)

ader gak component2 dier yg lebih kurang interview PETRONAS... cuma dier x der IQ test la..

Mari kiter tengok interview MISC mcm mane…

1. Exam English....

Hmm petronas ader gak rasanyer component nih.. nway, exam dier x panjang sgt pun and kalu berjaya dpt A for English in SPM, it is not a big problem for you…
Antara benda yg di test:
Grammar
Vocabulary
Usage

2. Problem Solving (individual) and Interview ( 2 to 1)

Dier kasi problem tuk di solve… During my time problem dier mcm mane nak uruskan remaja yg bermasalah … budget dier bagi … and kiter come out with programs or pusat pemulihan or etc tuk mengatasi masalah tersebut…

Mcm kena buat planning lah..

Then lepas masa di peruntukkan telah habis,
Kiter kena present secara verbal depan 2 org interviewers ….

Di samping tuh interviewers akan tanya soklan2 mcm

- can you please introduce yourself
- why do you choose Marine engineering???

Hmm soklan2 common lah…but prepare for unexpected Q’s… nway, conversation akan lebih tertumpu kepada problem yg kiter kena solve tuh…

3.Group discussion
Lepas semua org dah present and interview secara individual, dier group kan secara bertiga2… (waktu tuh ader dalam 9 org)

Then kiter masuk semula menghadap dua org interviewers tuh…

Pastuh masing2 kena terangkan perancangan masing2.. then berbincang and berdebat and last kali kena capai kata sepakat tuk pilih sorang punyer planning jerh..

Macam tu lah lebih kurang, anyway from year to year, dorang mungkin akan tukar cara dorang punyer interview…

GUD LUCK to the applicants for MISC and PETRONAS scholarship!!!

Some other conditions yg boleh happen for PETRONAS scholars (and juga scholars tuk scholarship lain) :

1. Korang di hantar tuk twinning program instead of fly ke sana terus, mcm wat twinning/transfer program kat Monash Uni,Malaysia branch, or Nottingham Uni,Malaysia branch (byk sponsor wat mcm nih gak sebab nak cut off cost)

2. Korang fly awal but fly ke Sarawak…(mcm my friend yg ingatkan fly ke luar Negara but actually fly ke Sarawak ~ Curtin University,Malaysia branch)

3. Bagi yg ke US, mungkin wat IB or A-level dulu, then gi US..so mcm rugi setahun..

Hmm nway, semua ader pros and cons… kalu dah dpt scholarship tuh dah kire hebat.. lebih2 lagi PETRONAS…
Hehe… duit scholarship byk kan… dapat elaun computer kan…

INTERVIEW BNM ~ 'The Secrets Revealed'

Assalamualaikum…

I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to those who have applied for BNM and have been contacted by the BNM Human Resource Department… the department who is in charged of scholarships and those kinds of stuffs…

As I am a Bank Negara Malaysia Scholar, I felt compelled to write this post…
Therefore, to my friends, especially the BNM applicants, happy reading!!!

ME:
“Kak Wani, saya nak melawat Bank Negara esok (hari khamis minggu lepas) boleh x?? Kak Wani bz x?? Kak Rafidah & Kak Zeha bz x??? Because I would like to discuss a little bit regarding my claim for the US application fees and the university that most probably I will be pursuing my studies there.”

KAK WANI:
“Owh, boleh jer nak melawat, Cuma… we are a little bit bz this week, kitorang conduct interview tuk junior2 korang la this week and next week… but Kak Rafidah mungkin x berape bz…so boleh lah kalau nak datang..”

Sememangnya,
orang2 kat department HRD (Human Resources) BNM memang baik2… friendly and amicable…

and memandangkan kak wani yg jaga welfare kitorang ckp dorang sedang conduct interview...

nak lah reveal ape yg kitorang lalui semasa interview BNM tahun lepas...

but sebelum itu....

Hehehe… X ape rahsia pun..dekat post2 laen kat blog2 laen atau kengkawan2 laen or your seniors (yg pergi BNM punyer interview) might have mentioned this

must-know F4 (Fantastic Four) Elements untuk Bank Negara Malaysia punyer interview...

usually dalam sehari...dier akan panggil dlm 12 orang and akan dipecahkan kepada 2 kumpulan.. 6 org dlm setiap kumpulan…

The F4 are as follows:

1. INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATION

Macam presentation2 biasa kat sekolah korang dulu...x perlu takut…

Dier akan kasi briefing dulu psl BNM punyer scholarship then dier akan kasi satu kertas yg tertera di atasnya problem yang korang kena solve…dier akan provide marker pens, kertas mahjung for you for the presentation...

And paling penting dier kasi 30-45 mins or tuk lengkapkan assignment tuh...

Problem yg kena solve mungkin varies from group to group… anway yang saya kena tahun lepas macam nih..

Something like this la..x berapa ingat…

There was a terrible flood in a nearby hometown and many buildings were destroyed by it. It is known that there are still some survivors left in their houses. The roads are impassable due to the flood.

You are the leader of a group of volunteers that consist of 10+ members. Some are experienced volunteers for Red Cross, First Aid, Firemen, etc and others (dier state number sebenarnyer) are fresh volunteers with no experience. Divide your team adequately, give their roles accordingly and state and explain the roles of the volunteers sufficiently.

Please include things that you should bring, action plan during the two-day rescue mission, backup plan or if things do not go as planned or unpredictable things happen…

Macam tu lah lebih kurang soklan dier.. Juz remember that you have a limited amount of time to design your plan…

You have to present this, during my time, in front of two evaluators.. dier akan tengok presentation korang and tanya soklan2 cepu emas mcm “What happen if the boat suddenly brake down??” or “What happen if you suddenly the walkie-talkie connection faded and you as the leader lose communication with the rest of the volunteers??” or “What will you do if the survivors are more than you expected and the spaces of the boat is limited”…


2. GROUP PRESENTATION

Yang nih mungkin rilex sket sebab korang keje as group.. but team work is really important and they are evaluating you based on your participation in the group and how you present...

Yang ni pulak dier bagi masalah lagi… and mcm tadi dier provide marker pens and kertas mahjung skali lagi...

Korang nak pasarkan produk/service yang boleh dipilih dari tiga produk/service yg akan diberi...

During my time,
Health Product : minuman health yg boleh merampingkan kalu x silap
PDA or Handphone
Gym Service

Macam nih la lebih kurang...
Choose only one product/service that will produce the most profit and the money that is designated for your company to produce this service/product is …(certain amount)

Give a name for your product/service and fill in the posts given, each of you have to play your roles accordingly…work as a team and plan the flow of how you and your team members will develop this product/service…

2 for Marketing and Advertisement:
2 for Product Design and Implementation

Hmm…janganlah nak berebut sgt untuk jadi Manager, x semestinya yang jadi Manager tuh dpt scholarship BNM nih..dier depends your performance..how do you elaborate your role and how do you work in a team…

And satu lagi time nak pilih service or product tuh..korang kena wujudkan persepakatan...mesti ader yg x puas hati dengan decision yg dibuat oleh member yg laen... so fikir and bincang and cepat2 pilih satu product or service...jgn terlampau buang byk masa kat sini..masa yang diberikan agak limited!!!

During my time, ader 2 orang Indian, 3 orang Chinese, and I am the only Malay.

I just aquired the Product Design and Implementation post..ader sorang Indian nih yang beriya sgt jadi Manager… bila aku contact dorang..aku dengar2 yang members in my group yg lain x dpt..Alhamdulillah aku dpt..

Do you best!! That’s the trick!!! Pray to ALLAH!!! We have ALLAH with us…


3. INTERVIEW 3 TO 1

Yang nih lebih kurang interview2 laen mcm interview MARA..but yang nih ramai sket la 3 to 1…
Tuk guide kepada interview nih korang mungkin boleh baca my previous post psl ‘Sebuah Perkongsian ::. INTERVIEW .:: yg berkenaan interview MARA and aplikasikan dlm INTERVIEW BNM..

Basically,

1. Do lah some research on BNM… mission and vision, objective, what is actually Bank Negara Malaysia role...They are your soon-to-be sponsor…you must know them…at least a little bit..
How are you going to contribute to BNM???

2. Do lah some research on your course… Bank Negara x offer pure engineering.. (dulu ader offer).. so mungkin korang pilih course yg korang kurang minat or korang kurang jelas..
So,at least baca lah psl course yg korang letak.. untuk course second choice pun korang kena baca sket2 sebab ader kemungkinan dier tanya.. “why do you choose this course for you second choice”

Tengok jugak tempat tuh.. why do you choose US not UK?? Or why do you choose Australia not UK??

Bagi yg apply financial engineering.. check course nih betul2..
Dier byk cmner kiter nak apply finance dlm engineering..byk finance
Not really a pure engineering course…

3. Elaborate articulately about your extra-curricular achievements…and kalu boleh relate kan dengan course yang korang pilih…

Mcm during my time I applied for IT in the US, and I gave an example of my National Robotics Competition and relate it with IT… I mentioned that I was the head of the team and was in charged of programming the robot…the word ‘programming’ do have connection with the course IT, hmm try to find one for your course…

Kalu mcm IT kat UK tuh..memang ader Bachelor of Science in IT…
Tapi kalu IT kat US..dier x der course nama IT..but nama course dier Computer Science and yang lebih menarik and baik hati Bank Negara nih..ialah korang yang apply IT boleh amek ape2 yang ader Computer dlm course tuh...

So, that is why I choose Computer Engineering…(which byk belajar bout hardware rather that software)..byk engineering la…

4. Tanya soklan di akhir interview… Jangan lepaskan peluang untuk tanya soklan2 relevan. “Malu bertanya sesat jalan”..


4. ESSAY…

Ingatkan korang dah terlepas dari menulis essei selepas menjawab soklan SPM BM kertas 1 and soklan essay English…hehehe..NOPE, korang kena buat SATU ESSAY BM and ONE ESSAY IN ENGLISH…

Ader beberape topic utk dipilih..so jgn risau lah..mcm kalu x silap tuk ESSAY BM ader 5 choices of questions and ESSAY BI pun sama…

The topic yg I have chosen is:

For BM,
Mat Rempit (soklan dier sebenarnye agak panjang but saya x berapa ingat la)

For ENGLISH,
Lebih kurang tajuk nih… Illegal Investment in the Internet World. (soklan dier panjang lagi)

Byk tajuk pilihan dier yang berkaitan dengan perbankan gak..depends la…

1. Banyakkan berdoa dan bertawakkal kepada ALLAH kerana firman Allah yg bermaksud : "Apabila kamu telah berazam (dan berusaha) maka bertawakkal lah kepada Allah"

2. Menyambung dan me 'recall' research yg telah di buat sepertima yg disyorkan dalam posting yang lepas. Bagi yg x start lagi..masih ader masa..bukan byk research pun yg korang kena buat...Just baca2 sedikit info sambil minum2 teh atau kopi... ~cool~

nih la pemikiran segolongan orang, yg medic UK lagi elok dari medic middle east, it is actually dependent upon your own self... each place has its own unique advantages and surely some disadvantages...

First, cubalah Mr./Ms. anonymous wat brainstorming..you should know why hati tuh desired nak gi UK...Anyway, for the first question, you can answer something like this which basically what I had answered during my interview>> >

I prefer MARA to JPA because I am interested in the entrepreneurial field. I am planning to initiate my own business which will relate to engineering products (eg. solar car..etc...what you are planning to major la, like for me at that particular time, I opt for Mechanical Engin). As MARA provides and encourages Malay entrepeneurs to prosper in the entrepeneurial field, i think by choosing MARA, I'm in the right path and my aim can be easily achieved .I also wish, with my business, I will be able to help boost the Malay economics and at the same time encourage other Malays to set up their own business with the help of MARA.

For the second Q...
During that time, they asked me, why do you want to study in the US??
So, I answered something like...because a lot of innovation and techology come from the US.
I mentioned that I have watched a television program called 'Beyond Tomorrow' and was fascinated by the innovations and was encouraged by the superb technological inventions. I said that a lot of those sophisticated 'stuffs' was created by top US schools such as 'MIT', which is why I desired to go there.

Therefore, try searching the benefits of studying in UK, maybe you can cite some good engineering Uni there such as Imperial College... wat reasearch, kay...

Pasal esei, perancangan study and kerjaya tu macam mane sebenarnya?Maksudnya kalo kite diterima ke ataupun sumthing else??Essei nak buat macam mane?

Ammar Faris:
Essei nih x der lah 'fix' atau terlampau 'terkongkong' sgt isinya...dier x der fix format pun..memang x der skema..Write anything that relate dgn your backgroud, your study plannings, and future plannings lah which is your kerjaya pada masa hadapan...

Hmm dier nak pendek jer kan (around 300 ker??)..so jgn lah byk sgt merepek tuh..anyway, buat dulu, then baru edit..korang akan realize biler korang khusyuk buat yang korang dah lebih limit 300 tuh... (eh nak mintak kepastian...betul ker 300 patah perkataan limit dier???)

Yang intro tuh mungkin korang boleh buat a brief explanation about yourself and your background, a little bit of your achievements (kalu ader achievement yang relate dengan bidang yg korang pilih lagi baik) and kalu mcm sket mungkin boleh tambah what makes you choose that course..

Then, teruskan dengan your study plannings...

Elok mcm check la tempat yg MARA akan hantar and what type of courses yg korang bakal amek (eg. IB, A-level) and tempoh study tuh, contohnya mcm sape yg plan nak gi UK tuh...biasanya MARA akan hantar ke Kolej MARA Banting tuk buat IB around two years..and kalu yg middle east tuh biasanyer kat INTEC selama 3 bulan...

So, dlm study plannings tu boleh lah tulis yg korang plan nak wat persediaan kat mane, tempoh and pengalaman yg korang nak amek time persediaan tuh..

Then, teruskan dengan future planning or kerjaya...

Cakaplah lepas balik MAS nnti..nak wat per?? serve MARA sebab dorang sponsor ker..realisasikan hasrat tuk menjadi entrepreneur yg berjaya ker..nak tolong orang2 melayu ker...

Basically, tu lah isi2 penting yang korang kena ader..x yah lah nak tulis benda yg membodek atau merayu2 supaya MARA mengambil saya...

Persoalan tentang dalam ENGLISH or BM.. I suggest that you tulis dlm English especially those who plan to further their studies kat English-spoken countries mcm US or UK..

Just pegang time bawak dlm bilik interview and biler dier persilakan kita duduk, neatly and carefully, slow2 letak atas meja tuh.. sebab dh ramai applicant yg di 'interview', so mungkin secara automatik dier akan amek file tuh and tgk (sebab dier dah tau dah setiap applicants yg bwk file tuh memang content file tuh ialah sijil2)

but, take notes that kadang2 dier x tgk pun..during my time, dier sentuh2 mcm tu jer..

They are actually lebih interested in knowing kiter punyer achievements through kiter punyer mulut..kiter lah yg kena pandai elaborate and explain articulately and accurately psl kiter punyer achievements...

U mean sijil2 yg di photostat ker???time masa saya x yah bagi yg photostat..just bwk yg original and 'compile'kan dlm file (2D is recommended)...hmm x semestinya sijil tuh dari form 4 & form 5... dari form 1 sampai form 5 pun boleh..tapi lagi elok kalu ader byk sket yg form 4 and form 5 lah..sebab yg tu paling recent..even dlm 2D file saya, saya letak some core achievements time sekolah rendah (eg. pengawas and tokoh murid)...so depends la..but memang byk gak lah sijil2 tuh datang dari form 4 and form 5

Preparation tu lak depends on tempat preparation..contohnya yg pegi INTEC tuk program A-levels or AUSMAT dlm awal bulan tujuh, kalu x silap...

Hmm definitely sempat nak decide whether perlu masuk matrik ke x.. mcm time saya cmni..saya dpt tau yg dpt masuk ke pusat asasi UIA tuk wat engin (dpt tau UPU)..so saya tolak matrik...but sebelum daftar UIA or other UPU tuh, kiter akan tahu whether kiter dpt scholarship or not so flow dier mcm nih la..

keputusan matrik> keputusan UPU> daftar matrik> keputusan scholarship>daftar UPU> daftar tempat persediaan

Sama sekali tidak. If you do well in you interview regardless of your school, insyaALLAH you will get the scholarship...but just note that tuk MRSM quota dorang besar sket... but seriously, it doesn't mean that if you are a SBP student, your chances are small..

Last year, from my school KISAS, which is a SBP school. From those who get the interview, 95 percent got the scholarship..so, no fret..just try your best!!!

1. (paling simple and common) When will MARA release their results?(tambah sket benda cmni) as it will make it easier for me to plan for my post-secondary studies and for a back up plan.. .

2. Will MARA sponsor me if I want to further my studies for Master and PhD??

3. Do I have to pay MARA if I did not reach certain requirements?

4. How long will I be serving MARA upon completion of my undergraduate studies?? (kalu mcm nak menarik sket)...Can I extend if i'm interested in continuing to serve MARA...

5. (follow up from Q2) If I want to further my studies for Master and PhD, am I supposed to serve MARA first or I can continue my studies first and serve MARA after completing my PhD
or Master..

"Let's MARA!!!" - Another MARA Story

Assalamualaikum...

Rasa macam dah lama jer x post dalam blog nih...

First, nak mintak maaf sebab dah lama x update blog nih..bertimbun2 comment kat "shout!!!box" tuh and byk gak la comments kat post tuh... thanks a lot kepada semua yg bagi comment..comment anda lah yang 'meng revive' blog aku nih... ARIGATO!!!

Actually hari tuh...start dari hari jumaat sampai isnin..ader trip lawatan budak2 PPOU(Preparation Program for Overseas Universities), UNITEN ke Terengganu...So, agak lama x de access tuk guna internet nih...Sape yang apply tuk MOE, FELDA or BANK NEGARA.. de kemungkinan korang akan di hantar ke UNITEN tuk menjalani program PPOU nih...Selamat datang bakal junior2 ku!!! hehehe... nway, yang MARA memang x la..so korang x yah tertanya2 soklan mcm "apa itu PPOU???"

Secondly, nak ucapkan GUD LUCK KEPADA SEMUA MARA APPLICANTS..mengikut sumber yang di percayai MARA dah released shortlisted candidates dier... yang x dpt MARA punyer interview tuh janganlah kecewa..it is not end of the world..there is still a bright future ahead of you..insyaALLAH boleh dapat scholarship lain..doalah banyak!!!

First sekali nak mintak maaf byk2 kat dr. fathiyyah sebab x online tadi and x release post nih sekali dengan ur post tuk INTERVIEW JPA...hehehe..actually tertido..and time ko release..aku punyer baru sket jer yg siap..alhamdulillah dgn izin Allah, dengan desakan ko...post ni berjaya disiapkan...

Oh, walaupun post nih memegang tajuk yang sama tapi yang akan dapat the fullest advantage ialah pelajar2 lepasan SPM tahun lepas yang apply tuk Scholarship MARA (sebab pengalaman saya hanya limited tuk INTERVIEW MARA jerh)....UNTUK CALON2 JPA silalah lawat blog akak penyayang nih merangkap bakal doctor yang berkaliber kat sini.

Preparation before the interview...

One of the crucial moments is for sure the time prior to the interview.... the golden moment before the judgement day (whether ur in or out???).. hehehe.. but no fret my friends,

don't be apprehensive or scared, as you don't need to prepare much... a few research and some practices should do the trick!!! and of course just RELAX!!!

I'll try to make this as short and brief as possible,okay...

1. DO SOME, IF NOT A LOT, RESEARCH...

Do research to get some information pertaining to MARA >>> such as the objectives of MARA...you might be asked about something like "How can you contribute to MARA???"... So, by knowing some details about ur soon-t0-be sponsor, you can 'goreng' la jawapan2 tuh...

Do research on the course that you are planning to choose >>> this is totally vital and important....what for, if you don't know or don't show your interest in the area that you want to pursue...

think about the advantages of the place that you're planning to study as well...make up your mind..like if possible..the country that you desire to study, and even the University(ies) that you aim for...try coming up with answers for questions like "Why do you choose this course???", "Why do you choose UK instead of Middle East???" or vise versa.

Hmm..what is the advantage of MARA nih...you don't have to know much about current issues or 'hot' issues...because there will be no group disussion or whatsoeve...hmm...but dengan keputusan election yg mengejutkan and dengan muka2 baru dalam kabinet serta dengan masalah Menteri Besar kat Terengganu and Perlis. Some isu semasa mungkin di tanya..maybe something like "What do you think about the current politic situation???", x tau lah, tapi time saya memang dier x sentuh la psl isu2 semasa atau isu2 hangat...but still, depends on the interviewers...x perlu risau sgt pasal yang ni..

2. SPEAKING!!!

This apply to the whole interviews that you are going to face...no more interviews held in Bahasa...English is widely used now and it is considered a significant international language.. So, start speaking now!!! You might have scored A1 in your English 1119 or GCE-O level...but speaking is something quite different.. start speaking in english with your friends, family members, relatives and even in front of the MIRROR!!! Seriously, somestimes this method (MIRROR technique) can help you boost up your confidence...I've tried it before!!!

3. ORGANIZE!!!

HA!!! Another thing, better to have a file (2D files is recommended) for your certs...be organized and show to them that you are an organized person...ikut kekreativian anda lah..hereby, I put some pictures of my 2D file that I have used for all my interviews...

The night before the interview...

1. Be COOL lah...

You are not the only one shivering or 'gelabah-ing'...do you think that the other applicants are not like you - cuak and risau ...hmm.. its fitrah..so build up your confidence and say to yourself -

" I can do it!!! "

2. Make SURE everything is prepared

Hmm mcm biasa....semua dokumen2, sijil2, file, IC and surat panggilan interview di kumpulkan dan diletakkan di tempat yang senang di cari...

Baju di gosok awal2...jangan wat keje last minute...pakai formal..pastikan kemas dan wangi(jgn berlebih2an lak)!!!

DRESS CODE

untuk laki: seluar slack(gelap digalakkan),

and baju kemeja lengan panjang/pendek(cerah digalakkan),

beserta tie (yang matching and sesuai), and

kasut hitam yang telah digilap

untuk perempun: x berapa tau la..

baju kurung and kasut hitam rasanyer...

sila consult kak fathiyyah atau sape2 lah yg pernah pergi interview..

On the day, before the interview...

Look at the interview letter once again...pukul bape...9.00 pg??? 3.30 ptg??

1. Be punctual...

basically you have to queue and check for the place or room that you are going to be interviewed..so better be at the place 25 or 35 minutes earlier..so that you can familiarize yourself with the place and so that you will not MISS the interview!!!

2. Eat first. Energy is important.

Hmm...better to have your breakfast or lunch first before entering the interview room...choose your food wisely!!! Don't eat a lot of spicy sambal or something equivalent to that...eat mild food..or else you will be interviewed in the washroom!!!

and it is also recommended to have a mouth freshener like 'clorets mint' or 'mentos mints' to maintain the freshness of your mouth...especially after you eat...

UNiKL...

My interview was held at UniKL...and it was scheduled at 11.oo pagi if i'm not mistaken...

There was a massive number of applicants. They (MARA officers) arranged the

applicants according to the type of the course that we had chosen. It was wednesday and the applicants were those who were applying for Engineering France and Engineering US/UK/Aussie/Newzealand/etc...

the important thing is that you have to queue (quite long - ramai tul org) and show ur interview letter to some officers there (ground floor)...they will give you something like an 'angka giliran' tag la...

then, an usher will bring you to the place designated for the interview...mine is tingkat bape ntah..but quite tinggi gak la...then kena duduk...and wait for your turn...sabar ye...:)

3. Take your time and mingle with others...

don't stick with your team (assabiyyah) or don't be timid or shy..show your confidence...talk and speak in english...kalu bunyi biasa2 pun x per..during my time, there was one student..rilex jer ckp english yg bunyi mcm kelantan punyer longhat..not everyone is fluent in that language..so relax...

During the interview...

During my time, I waited for about 15- 20mins. Then, my name was called. I started my steps with kalam 'bismillahirrahmanirrahim'. "Yeah, I can do it", I told my self. When i went into the interview room, i noticed that it was quite a long room...kat room tuh mcm ader dlm 5 teams of interviewers...setiap team consists of two interviewers...so setiap two interviewers will interview one student at a time..so remember and be alert that

Some useful tips:

1. Recite your doa and baca bismillah byk2...

2. Go into that room with a smile in your face and with a confident look...

first impression is very important.... Give salam if the interviewers are Muslims (most probably yes)...

3.Wait for them to offer you a sit and if not, ask permission to do so...

4. Answer all the questions with full confidence. Avoid long gaps. Short gaps..mcm sedikit 'aaa' is considered okay..but not too much please....

5. Try not to 'goreng' too much (nanti hangit...hehehe:) Be honest.

Many interviewers can detect and recognize whether you are telling the truth or not. If you don't know...dont just say - 'I don't no'. Instead, say something better such as ' I don't really have much knowledge about this, but i'm really interested to learn more about it as I am an eager learner'...something like that...

6. Be polite. Maybe you are a debater who is very keen on opposing people thoughts. So if ' x puas hati dengan opinion interviewer', don't directly bangkang. Use polite words and try not to offend them. Respect them. Remember, they are the ones who are going to decide...

7. Ask questions when they open Q&A (questions & answers) session at the end of the interview...Usually, if they are not rushing and they like you...hehehe...they will ask something like "Is there any question(s) that you would like to ask???" and don't just simply say 'NO!'.

There are many type of brilliant questions that you can ask which might increase your chance in getting the scholarship. People even published books compiling these type of questions...So this is your homework..do some brainstorming ..think about some smart and relevant questions... But, remember, don't ask irrelevant or 'stupid' questions as it will jeopardize your chances..

8. Thank the interviewers for willingly spending some time evaluting you. Maintain the smile and the confidence (even though you feel that you have done badly during the interview)...shake the interviewers' hands (if necessary)...usually they will offer you a shake..(laki salam laki, pompuan salam pompuan la)..

9. Don't contemplate or ponder upon the interview that you have just gone through. You have done your best. Remember, nobody is perfect. Congratz yourself for doing a good job. Take it as an experience that you can share with the people that you love (mcm aku nih sayang korang semua..so aku share la..nnti bley share ngan cucu2 gak-'dulu kan atuk gi interview MARA, cair interviewer tuh....' )

10. Concentrate on other interviews (if you have more) or just continue with the beneficial stuffs that you do while waiting for the placements for matrik, preparation place, uni, college etc..and while waiting for the scholarship...(jangan melepak, x wat pape...)

Some questions that I got during my interview (try answering these Qs):

1. (Normally, for intro they will ask something like 'introduce yourself' - but MARA quite different) Tell me about your hometown??? - terkezut gak...hehehe..baru cadang nak introduce myself..

1.5 Tell me about you co-curricular achievements???

2. Why MARA not JPA???

3. (I applied for Engineering US/UK/Aussie/and other 'English spoken countries') At which country do you plan to study??? Why???

4. How can you contribute to MARA in the future???

*Additional notice for Medic Middle East & Medic UK/Ireland/etc *

1. For those who applied for medic middle east the chances of getting your first question something like this is high (Can you introduce your self in arabic language???)

1.5. Based on my friend's explanation, she said that certain interviewers tuh saje je nak tau kiter nih pandai arab ker x?? dorang kadang2 x der background arabic pun..so kalu 'goreng' pun x per la..but then , dier ckp ader gak yg terer arabic..so kena berhati2 lah...

2. Bakal2 doctor, you might be asked...

Why do you want to be a doctor???

What are you going to do upon completion of your study???(work with the goverment hospital/private hospital/etc)

Why do you choose to go to the middle east/UK/Ireland???

3. Soklan ni lagi best...

Can you explain to me about 'the nerve system'???
WOW!!! but those who really want to do medic, sure tau punyer..

anway, it is in the biology SPM syllibus, right???
