4th of July ~ The Secrets

[SPECIAL BIRTHDAY EDITION - MUST READ]
*[No intention to sell or promote books (except SAT &TOEFL books) - i'm not a salesman ;]
Conundrum
Hi there, have you seen books with the date '4th of July ' as part of the title of that reading materials?

Have you been wondering why? (you r not going to ponder upon this Q if you are staying or studying in the US or if you are a US citizen)

Independence day and Hancock
Guess what? 4th July is the independence day for the USA. That is why an author of a book, when choosing a date to be the title for his or her book might be choosing 4th July as his or her first choice.
Anyway, let's look at some facts about US Independence Day.. YOu like history, right? hahaha :)

In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain (sape kata US x pernah di jajah???).

What about Hancock??

Some more history...
Congress approved the wording of the Declaration on July 4 and then sent it to the printer. Whether John Hancock, as the elected President of the Second Continental Congress, or anyone else signed the document that day is unknown, because that document has been lost — presumably destroyed in the printing process. However, Hancock's name and that of a witness do appear on the typeset broadside that was published within a few days.

So, actually Hancock, is a prominent guy gak lah. Bukan sekadar superhero..haha.. and yg menarik gak ialah Hancock juga merupakan satu nama bandar or county (a sub-unit of regional self-government within a larger jurisdiction) di ILLINOIS (state),USA (country). Menarik...menarik...

What drives me to write about 4th July huh?
Haha.. simply because there were memories behind it.

Hehe.. and that happened to me lah.. i was born in The States on the 4 minus 1 July... on Monday during the evening.. berusaha my mom tunggu.. but takdir ALLAH x boleh di halang.. Alhamdulillah, lahirlah seorang bayi yg sihat pada petang ISNIN 3 Julai 1989. That's all about it. It's HISTORY.

UIUC - Where I Belong

I BELONG

Finally, I managed to finish this one. Yeah! Alhamdulillah...
[Ini bukan post untuk promosi.. :]

I belong?
What’s that?

Simply, it is the university where I belong. The place where I will be sparing my precious 4 years time studying and of course having fun (hope so)! The community that I will be mingling with - a serene community in which I belong to…
Why 'I belong'?
It is one of their trademarks. Even the first offer letter that I received had ‘I Belong’ at the back of the envelope…cool huh?
It looks something like this >>>

UIUC? [ If you want to look at the rankings scroll down ]
Because the name of this public University is quite long, there are quite a few names that you can use to refer to this University…

This is the official name:
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC)

*Note that Urbana and Champaign are the names of town and city in which UIUC is situated and Illinois is the state.

Another name:
University of Illinois

*There are two other Universities which share the name University of Illinois. Therefore, calling the name University of Illinois might raise some confusion if you want to refer to only one specific University.
The duos are:
University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)
University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS)

The famous name amongst the community:
U of I

This is a quite common, easy to utter and a simple ‘nick’ name for the University. The U of I community really prefer it and use this name more frequent.

Why choose UIUC?
They have good rankings in Engineering and Business, both for undergraduate and postgraduate.

Rankings? Are you sure?
(Beneficial for those are planning on which Universities to apply - UIUC is good choice!)

Let me prove it to you.
